ISKCON TEMPLE at Sushant Golf City, Lucknow.

Lucknow Temple of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is being developed on Sultanpur Road. The 5-acre complex will be a world class centre for mental peace and spiritualism and is expected to become a new landmark for the historical city of Lucknow. The Pran Pratishtha & bhoomi poojan was done on 16th May 2012. It is expected to cost Rs 45-crore and is a part of  ‘Sushant Golf City’ township on Shaheed path Lucknow.
ISKCON Lucknow celebrated a colorful Rathayatra during inception. H. G. Devkinandan Prabhu, H. G. Surapati Prabhu and H. G. Radha Ranjan Prabhu and the local committee members organized this wonderful event. The Lordships Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva and Subadra came up on their Ratha and then an Arati ceremony was performed by Ansals (the land donors for temple). Sri Dinesh Sharma, Mayor of Lucknow inaugurated the Rathyatra. H. H. Mahavishnu Swami Maharaj, spoke on the significance of Rathayatra and H. G. Devkinandan Prabhu delivered the welcome speech. Several residents attended the event of Rathyatra and Arati. Prasad was distributed all along the Rathyatra along with Prabhupada’s books by the famous Sankirtan team of ISKCON, New Delhi.

The ISKCON aims at acquainting people with universal principles of self-realization and God consciousness. According to vedic literature, for achieving self-realization you must listen about, praise and remember the  superlative power Sri Krishna. It is because of this the chanting of the Mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare is advocated. The person chanting these words feels the power of lord Krishna while he is chanting this Mantra.

International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is also known as the Hare Krishna movement. This spiritual movement  was lead by Swami Prabhupada in July 1966 in New York. ISKCON belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradaya of Vedic culture. Presently ISKCON society has more than 400 temples. ISKCON is believed to have originated with Lord Krishna himself and movement has continued with several eminent leaders. Presently Swami Prabhupada and his followers are bearing this responsibility.

ISKCON teaches you to follow the teachings of the Vedas and most importantly Shrimad Bhagavadgita which helps you to follow Vaishnavism or Lord Krishna and his supreme presence in form of Radha Krishna. ISKCON teaches non-sectarian path, follows the principle of sanatana dharma or eternal religion and preaches loving devotional service (bhakti-yoga) to the supreme power.

The ISKCON Lucknow organizes several several events to inculcate the feeling of inner inspiration. A visitors registered is maintained where after providing your contact details you will be informed about these events. Along with these periodic events daily Pathh of Shrimad Bhagvatgita is organized in the evenings after Arti which is really inspirational.
